The Poetry of Heaven
Some days
the way you smile at me
is like heaven singing
poetry to my heart,
and I have enough sense
to stop what I am doing
and kiss this holy ground.

When I stop for a moment in the hustle and bustle of the day, I see how incredibly beautiful it is to be alive, to be here with my children and husband, and to be in the messiness of it all. Just one “love look” from my dear ones and my heart is full. Their smiles are like “heaven singing poetry to my heart.” Truly, this is holy ground we are all on.

Update 2016: there are many days when I don’t pause, when I don’t notice the “love looks”, and I only see what’s bugging me. But every single time I can remember to pause, I soften. I let go of the schedule for a moment just long enough to remember again that this is holy ground. I hear the poetry again.
Can you pause and hear “heaven singing poetry to your heart” in the most ordinary of days and moments of connection between you and your dear ones?
*You can find several meditations on my shop to support you in pausing, focusing on what matters, and coming home to this very moment. Check them out!
