Whatever it was, my children were delighted. Brian told me that our children’s eyes lit up and our five year old said, “I know just who to give this to! My mommy!” And our little two year old nodded her head.
When we all met up back at home, they each presented me with a rose.
I totally smiled.
I am moved by children — how they so easily and graciously “pay it forward.” They receive some sweet kindness and then so spontaneously and innately pass it on.
Thank you to Brian for taking the kiddos out, thank you to that dear man who gave us flowers, and thank you to my little honeys for the beautiful flowers and reminder to pass on the kindness and sweetness.
Blessings,
How heart-warming is this lovely post!!
Awww, thank you, Angela! I love your writing too. It’s a gem to have found you and to be connecting with you.
So Beautiful!!
You know why Kids are great at :”paying forward”? It’s because their love is unconditional and they get never attached to things. I always feel that children are much wiser than us!
Nikky, I have said that my children are my greatest teachers! Yes, their love is unconditional and they follow the promptings of their hearts. YOu are so right on!
We must always keep our “inner child” alive! As children grow, you will learn that no matter what age your child is there will always be a spiritual umbilical cord that connects. Wishing you a blessed Mothers Day!

Ahhhh, Maria, YES — a spiritual umbilical cord! Much of my work as a psychotherapist and yoga/mindfulness teacher is creating space for people to realize that once again. It’s always been there — that connection — we just have to get to know it once again.
