Sacred Softening
My body knows
has always known
my way back to God.
I dance
moving in slow sensual swirls
under the vastness of a moon-lit night
swaying until stillness fills every cell
and there are no hard edges
striving, panting, thinking
only breath
and heart.
Empty now,
I open into spaciousness
becoming the brilliant Night Jewel
boldly, gently shimmering her soft light.
And I discover that
I have always been
resting
shining
in God’s lap.

Blessings,
I love this. How do I return you ask? My answer’s boring. I think I’m going to try dancing in swirls in the moonlight!
Beautiful 🙂
What a beautiful poem, Lisa!
How do I return to the Divine? By creating sacred moments during the day, where I remind myself of how loved and blessed I am. I remind myself of God. Sometimes during meditation, sometimes by writing poems, sometimes by dancing, and sometimes by whispering gentle words to myself 🙂
Eline….this is beautiful. Yes, me too — listening to the whisper of poetry being spoken from within me, sitting in silence, dancing, being ever so gentle and kind to myself, noticing beauty even in the “messiness” of life. So lovely to be connecting with you, dear one. Love, Lisa
